A championship door solution at Warsaw’s new National Stadium
ASSA ABLOY is supplying a range of products from locks to access control to the Warsaw National Stadium that will host next year’s European football championships.
If you happen to attend the opening match of the European football championships at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland next year, look at the doors — you’re bound to see at least one of the many products that ASSA ABLOY Poland is supplying to the stadium.
“The project started back in 2009,” explains Ryszard Grzymala, the product and key account manager for electro-mechanical for ASSA ABLOY Poland. “The Polish government had appointed an architect firm, JSK, to design the stadium. As we work closely with the firm, we immediately started to work on the access control system based on ABLOY locks and HID readers. Because the safety of the stadium was paramount, ABLOY, with its functionality and ability to have full access control, won the contract. The contract for the panic exit devices soon followed for TESA locks.”
However, the real test was the door closers. “In the end, we managed to reassure them all that the ASSA ABLOY door closers would cause fewer problems for installation and fewer problems long-term than the competitor’s.” An ASSA master key system is the next challenge to present.
Lukasz Nowinski, the managing director for ASSA ABLOY Poland, is proud of his team: “This project is our most prestigious yet and our biggest contract won. The project team won the contract by their professionalism and commitment to the project, and I am sure that this will further raise ASSA ABLOY’s profile in Poland.”
