Unexpected turns on Tannis’ career path
It was a winding road that led Tannis Weinstein to her role as president of one of Mul-T-Lock’s selling units in the United States. Her career has taken a couple of unexpected turns along the way.
“There are people who grew up in this industry, but I’m not one of them,” Tannis says. “Where I’ve landed in my career has been the result of the people I have met, who have given me tremendous opportunities.
After a decade in sales and marketing positions in Canada and Israel, Tannis joined Mul-T-Lock in Israel in 2003 in a marketing communications position –the result of an introduction made by a consultant working with the company. Firmly based at Mul-T-Lock, she soon moved on to become product manager for padlocks at the company, and soon after that, she took yet another turn toward her current role.
“In our U.S. selling unit, which is one of ten globally, we sell to the locksmith channel,” she says. “My job is to manage this whole organization and to drive the sales efforts.”
Her days at work are jam-packed. But her goal is always the same: to strengthen the customer relationship.
“As Mul-T-Lock, we believe we have a special relationship with locksmiths around the world,” she says. “One of my goals is to help our customers understand that they are part of a bigger Mul- T-Lock family. I feel very passionate about what I do, and I like the people I work with,” she says. “I think this is a very important element of having a successful career.”
