Agnès Richter is open for discussion
Product Manager Agnès Richter has a talent for translating highly technical details into messages that end users can easily relate to.
Agnès Richter is rarely in a bad mood, but if she is, she says her colleagues will know. “They’ll hear about it,” laughs the Mechanical Group product manager. “My office door is always open for people to come in and discuss things.”
The Mechanical Group product manager says she likes to find solutions to problems and then move on, with no regrets.
Agnès has been working at ASSA ABLOY’s Paris office since October 2006, where she describes the atmosphere as “cool and busy.” She adds, “It’s a place where you can meet a lot of people from different organizations within ASSA ABLOY France.”
Helped by two others, her job involves strategic planning and marketing for her product group, which includes cylinders, architectural hardware, single point and multi-point locks. Agnès, who has a background in economics and marketing, is also in charge of product development and Voice of the customer activities. She has regular contact with R&D, sales forces and customers.
“I enjoy being in contact with different types of people, discovering new customers and new businesses,” Agnès says. “I like my job and I like to do it properly.”
As a product manager, she says it is important to be open-minded, organized, able to manage a lot of projects at once and able to listen and make contact easily. Patience would probably be a good quality too, but Agnès says that she sometimes lacks that. “Projects take time,” she sighs.
When she’s not working, Agnès can most likely be found with her family, cooking, reading and doing DIY projects. “I may not be a perfect cook, but at least my children prefer my cooking to the food at school!” Working with her hands, whether in the kitchen or on DIY projects around the home, helps ease her mind, she says.
She enjoys books and has even written a children’s book which she collaborated on with an illustrator friend. “It’s for very young children, around five years old, so not exactly a novel, but I’m quite proud of it.”.
